Good Days

Date with Johnjohn

Wednesday, April 11th, 2007 | Good Days, University | No Comments

Last night I kept my date with John Mayer. We had a nice evening together - I enjoyed his company enormously, despite the fact that he probably wasn’t aware of my attendance. It was still fantastic, even when I was 11 rows back and tucked away on the left hand isle.

He’s -amazing-

Even Mr Frog agreed. He’s sexy, cool, talented and humble.

Although Johnny was totally thrilling, it was the sudden appearance of one of my Uni mates that totally floored me. I knew that Shan and Natman were big JM fans, but I didn’t really expect to bump into them. I totally didn’t expect to be sitting right next to them in the seat that’s totally next to mine - We couldn’t have organised that if we had’ve spent a week trying. In a concert hall full of, say 7000 people, I randomly bought a seat right next to the people who introduced me to JM in the first place. Full circle, no?

In all, I had a great time last night. Good friends, good music - I went home with a huge tingley grin across my face.

I’ve had a request to post some wonderful pictures of our ‘Christmas in February’ celebrations that were had while the Outlaws were in town.

So, without further delay - The photos.

Day Five - Feeling Alive

Tuesday, September 26th, 2006 | Good Days | No Comments

Sorry for the title. I had to think up something on the spot, and there’s very few snazzy things that rhyme with ‘Five’.

Alive, survive, dive, skive, hive, jive, Clive… Ok, I guess it could be worse.

In any case, it’s Day 5 of the Weight Loss Campaign From Hell. Surprisingly, it’s going quite well.  I’ve been off caffeine and alcohol and carbohydrates and lactose.  And I’m feeling really really good.

I wake up before my alarm.  I’ve got the energy to run around with Frog Dog after I get home.  I’m powering on at the Gym.  I’m not even that hungry.  Although, I’m learning which Protein Shake flavors I dislike.  So far, Banana is the worst.  Chocolate, naturally, is the greatest.
Ok, so I know that 5 days wont change my whole life, but at least its a very good start to the campaign.  In fact, I’d recommend this diet to anybody who wants to clear out all the toxin’s from their system.  I’m hanging out for Friday for the official Week One Weigh In Of Doom.  I’ll be updating the new thingie on the side of the blog, until I get to the goal weight.

AND, it’s my second last day at Funkytown today.  Yikes.

TGIF

Friday, la la lahhh, it’s FRIDAY!

I woke up this morning in a really positive frame of mind. I’m going to work hard to get myself sorted out. Goals for the near future include:

  • Set up Formalised business structure to handle all of the out-of-hours stuff that comes my way.
  • Set up a web host reselling service for bloggers.
  • Shed the 6kg’s that I’ve gained while working here at Funkytown.
  • Look forward to my two days off next week.

So.  I have the goals in mind.  I’m now working out a strategy that will help me achieve all of this in the near future.

Although this program looks like it’s targetted towards ‘Today Tonight’ watching unemployed bogans, I think I’m going to give it a try.  I went on a similar diet when I was in Wales and lost a fantastic little amount of weight that stayed off (until I joined Funkytown, that is!).

Four days left, and counting.

Operation Jacqui-Spacky Liberation

Tuesday, August 22nd, 2006 | Good Days | Comments Off

Some of you may have come to understand the depths of my angst in regards to my current situation and lifestyle.

Quite frankly, it’s just plain bad.

So, I’ve gone and done something about it. I’ve gone and started a TAFE course (ha!) and I’ve also gone and done something a little silly in the career stakes as well. But, I cant really let the cat out of the bag until I officially release the feline from captivity.

So.

This is just a blog to say - Hi, How ya doin? I’m not fine now, but I have big plans.

Huge plans.

Huge plans that demand attention, strategy, and most importantly a name. This is the first hurdle.

Operation Jacqui-Spacky Liberation has begun.

Horror.

On Friday night, my life flashed before my eyes.

I watched as the database that drives ‘Not Sleeping, Dreaming’ was entirely erased from my hosting server.  Woe.  Doom.  End of the world.

Mr Frog wasn’t all that supportive.  I think he looked up from his 3D CAD drawing and said
“Should have had a backup.”

I know I should have had a backup.
I know I should be more careful with files that I have an emotional attachment too.
I know, I know, I know.

That didn’t stop it from being any more deleted than it already was.

So I panicked.  Some of you may have seen the error message:
“Not Sleeping, Dreaming has been erased. Ms Frog is now trying to find a truck to lie under.”

Thankfully, before I took my own life I asked all the system administrators if they happened to take a system backup.

BLESS THEM.  They did.  They took a backup when I didn’t.  May their beds always be warm and cosy and may they have a neverending supply of coffee and chocolate available to them.

When I found that the database had been restored, I made a little sound that I would normally associate with mental patients.  Whooooehhhayaaah!

So, to celebrate the rebirth of the database, I decided to rebirth the theme.  So…

Happy New Theme.
