How do you think I’m doing this?

Ok, so most of the world knows I'm a bit of a geek.  The small fact that I posses a degree in Control Systems Engineering merely confirms the theory. When it comes time for me to travel the world, I need the ultimate in nerdy gadgets.  I have an iPod touch for my tunes - this also has a bunch of "Robot Chicken" episodes to keep me giggling throughout the long train journeys between cities.  I cannot begin to express just how valuable an iPod is while travelling.

I bought a new Canon Ixus 90is a while back, which has give me ample "awesome shots" and enough video to build up an awesome holiday montage - which i plan on subjecting my friends to, once I return to brisbane.  (sucks to be you guys).

I then back up all of my photos onto my 10" MSI Wind U120 laptop - which also serves as a portable internet connection.  Most places have free wifi - meaning that while I'm on the other side of the world I can check out all twelve of my email accounts.  I'm also quite paranoid about losing my pics, after one of my best friends lost some invaluable data through theft…

Additionally, I'm sending all of my emails through Google Gears.  God Bless Google Gears.  I dont even need to be online to write crap emails whilst under the influence of strong Italian wine!  Hooray!

I'm also using a multi-site posting tool called Posterous to post to my blog, Facebook, Flickr, and Twitter accounts all at the same time.  What?  You thought I manually logged into four different accounts to do this?  Phhhhhhttt…..   Do yourself a favour and check this deal out:  www.posterous.com  - it's made my travelling life a breeze!  I simply send an email (offline, through Google Gears) to a pre-set email address, attach whatever I want to, and then they do all the hard stuff.

Too easy!!

If anybody else has any hot travel tech tips, please send them through!!!

Ciao, Bella!

I’d add http://www.getdropbox.com as a backup solution in case the hardware gets pinched (we also use it as a faux-network drive).
