Breaking News:

Operation Jacqui Spacky Liberation has gone into the second phase.

Repeat:  OJSL has gone to the second phase.

I have quit my job.  My last day here is the 27th of this month.  Now all I have to do is plan the leaving party and prepare to join another Alumni!

I have got an upgraded job at a company that’s closer to home - with a new set of working conditions.  My only hope is that I can rise to the challenge and do all the things that need to be done.

Any suggestions for a leaving do?

The world needed Steve Irwin.

He was filled with life and an often irritating amount of enthusiasm.  He was the type of person that you’d roll your eyes at, and shake your head.  He was the type of person that had the conviction to do wild things to achieve his goals.  He jumped in, feet first.  He lived life like it was a demonstration to other people:  This is how you do it - This is how you live a good life.

I’ve been to his Zoo a few times - it’s a popular destination for all of the international guests that come to stay at Squashed Frog Palace.  I went there recently, about 6 weeks ago, and enjoyed it.  The park has evolved from the Beerwha Fauna and Reptile Park that I first visited to this huge complex devoted to conservation.  I saw him there once.  Just as full-on and gee-whiz as he appears on tv.

My thoughts go out to his young family.
The world needs a little more Steve Irwin.
Get Enthusiastic.

Dont be afraid to look like a fool.

Grab opportunities with two hands - and don’t let go.

Am way too tired to put this into an entertaining format.

This weekend I:

• Got very drunk
• Had a very bad hangover
• Went Christmas Shopping
• Fought with Ubuntu Linux distribution disks for 12 hours.
• Discovered Ubuntu disks were perfectly ok - CDROM drive was borked.
• Went to Ikea for the very first time
• Spent tonne of money at Ikea
• Put together Ikea bookshelf
• Discovered that FrogDog looks more like a little black sheep than a cocker spaniel.
• Went to TAFE course
• Installed ‘LAMP’ services and RoR on new Ubuntu server
• Woke up at 4am with the sound of rain - ‘ware! The sky! ’tis falling!

And now it’s monday.

Some of you may have come to understand the depths of my angst in regards to my current situation and lifestyle.

Quite frankly, it’s just plain bad.

So, I’ve gone and done something about it. I’ve gone and started a TAFE course (ha!) and I’ve also gone and done something a little silly in the career stakes as well. But, I cant really let the cat out of the bag until I officially release the feline from captivity.

So.

This is just a blog to say - Hi, How ya doin? I’m not fine now, but I have big plans.

Huge plans.

Huge plans that demand attention, strategy, and most importantly a name. This is the first hurdle.

Operation Jacqui-Spacky Liberation has begun.

Horror.

On Friday night, my life flashed before my eyes.

I watched as the database that drives ‘Not Sleeping, Dreaming’ was entirely erased from my hosting server.  Woe.  Doom.  End of the world.

Mr Frog wasn’t all that supportive.  I think he looked up from his 3D CAD drawing and said
“Should have had a backup.”

I know I should have had a backup.
I know I should be more careful with files that I have an emotional attachment too.
I know, I know, I know.

That didn’t stop it from being any more deleted than it already was.

So I panicked.  Some of you may have seen the error message:
“Not Sleeping, Dreaming has been erased. Ms Frog is now trying to find a truck to lie under.”

Thankfully, before I took my own life I asked all the system administrators if they happened to take a system backup.

BLESS THEM.  They did.  They took a backup when I didn’t.  May their beds always be warm and cosy and may they have a neverending supply of coffee and chocolate available to them.

When I found that the database had been restored, I made a little sound that I would normally associate with mental patients.  Whooooehhhayaaah!

So, to celebrate the rebirth of the database, I decided to rebirth the theme.  So…

Happy New Theme.

Who’da thunk it?

Mr Frog and I found this photo while digging through the archives. Cyclone Joan visited the Outlaws a few decades ago. On that very day, Miss Frogspawn met Mr Frogspawn and our lives were changed.

Or not.

Neither of us can remember anything about the day. It obviously was -not- love at first sight. By the looks of things, Mr Frog was more in love with the dog. I was just there because some crazy lady told me to sit still and smile for the photo.

He still talks about that dog.

Even when we did meet up again many many many years later, neither of us really took much notice of the other. It wasn’t really a thunderous moment, sad to tell. It was more like, ‘Oh hi, you again?’.

Some how, something stuck. Kind of like that toilet paper you get stuck to the bottom of your shoe, except SO MUCH BETTER.
