Silence is Golden.

Sunday, October 29th, 2006 | Uncategorized | 1 Comment

Silence, as they say, is Golden.

So, while some people would be grumbling about my lack of blogging - I am claiming that it’s all about silence.

To enjoy the sound of a whisper, one must first learn the sound of silence.

(To be fair, that’s just a pile of dribble that I just made up, but it sounds profound. Or big-headed and toffee-nosed. Either way.)

My silence has been in aid of my offline life. The new job is just going from strength to strength. I’m busy but I’m feeling strong and positive. On top of that, I’m working normal hours once more which allows me to live a little as well.

Part of that living is dieting - 5.6kgs down now. Happy about that. I’ll be excited when I’ve lost enough to fit into a bikini without humiliating myself and Mr Frog at the beach. Is pale skin back in yet? Might have to look into false tan. The last time this booty saw any sunshine must have been prior to Wales.

Day Five - Feeling Alive

Tuesday, September 26th, 2006 | Good Days | No Comments

Sorry for the title. I had to think up something on the spot, and there’s very few snazzy things that rhyme with ‘Five’.

Alive, survive, dive, skive, hive, jive, Clive… Ok, I guess it could be worse.

In any case, it’s Day 5 of the Weight Loss Campaign From Hell. Surprisingly, it’s going quite well.  I’ve been off caffeine and alcohol and carbohydrates and lactose.  And I’m feeling really really good.

I wake up before my alarm.  I’ve got the energy to run around with Frog Dog after I get home.  I’m powering on at the Gym.  I’m not even that hungry.  Although, I’m learning which Protein Shake flavors I dislike.  So far, Banana is the worst.  Chocolate, naturally, is the greatest.
Ok, so I know that 5 days wont change my whole life, but at least its a very good start to the campaign.  In fact, I’d recommend this diet to anybody who wants to clear out all the toxin’s from their system.  I’m hanging out for Friday for the official Week One Weigh In Of Doom.  I’ll be updating the new thingie on the side of the blog, until I get to the goal weight.

AND, it’s my second last day at Funkytown today.  Yikes.

TGIF

Friday, la la lahhh, it’s FRIDAY!

I woke up this morning in a really positive frame of mind. I’m going to work hard to get myself sorted out. Goals for the near future include:

  • Set up Formalised business structure to handle all of the out-of-hours stuff that comes my way.
  • Set up a web host reselling service for bloggers.
  • Shed the 6kg’s that I’ve gained while working here at Funkytown.
  • Look forward to my two days off next week.

So.  I have the goals in mind.  I’m now working out a strategy that will help me achieve all of this in the near future.

Although this program looks like it’s targetted towards ‘Today Tonight’ watching unemployed bogans, I think I’m going to give it a try.  I went on a similar diet when I was in Wales and lost a fantastic little amount of weight that stayed off (until I joined Funkytown, that is!).

Four days left, and counting.

On a lull

Sorry for the quiet blog - I’m quite ok - perhaps a bit tired.

It’s my last day here at Funkytown IT next Wednesday.  I’m looking forward to going into a new role, but also dreading having to walk out of the office for the last time.

Mr Frog is also in Sydney for a work thing (read: pissup) so it’s been quite quiet at Casa Del Frog lately.  In fact, the highlight of my night last night was starting to wrap the Christmas presents.

Yeah. I know.  I was that excited.

Hopefully at some point, I’ll get some sleep and get some electricity back into my days so I can blog about it.

Kushiels Scion
Phedre is at it again.  Once again, another sultry and stunning edition of deAngeline intrigue.  This time round, however, it’s Imriel telling the story - complete with all the baggage that comes with being the son of the biggest traitor the world has ever seen.  V.Good.
