30 Firsts

First bike: I was 4 years old. I had the trainer wheels, I had the push start, I had a cool blue bike with streamers from the handlebars - I crashed into the closest tree. Still have the scar to prove it.

First Best friend: Stuart Webber. We were 4. He was going to be a builder, so he could build us a house so that we could live together forever. Strangely, he's now studying to become an architect!

First Pet: Taffy. Golden Labrador. She saved my life more times that I care to remember. I was a dumb kid with a genius for a pet.

First real memory of something: I was around 3 y/o. I was playing on the monkey bars and fell off!! No surprises, really.

First car: "Rusty Racer". Otherwise known as the 'deathtrap'. Was so rusty that the rain leaked onto me while I drove.

First car crash: I haven't ever crashed my car. I was, however, driving along with Rachy when our back wheel overtook us... Wheel bearings decided they didn't like working anymore. I couldn't stop laughing, even as we veered off the road and into a field.

First Car Fine: Uh, I think it was around 1999. I was going to the dentist, and I was about 3 minutes late for my parking ticket... Bastard nazi parking officers!!!

First crush: Nathan Vincent. Grade 4. Tragically, he had a crush on my best friend at the time. Unrequited love... *sigh* I was devastated! *hehehe*

First kiss: Hardy. Never should have happened, but such is life. I think somebody took photos, too, just to kick my ego when it was down. Bastards.

First partner: Darce. Uni thing.

First date: Sadly enough, it was with Darce. It was our 2nd year anniversary. I wasn't much of a dater then. Still not.

First break-up: Creighton. I had to break up with him twice, as he didn't believe me the first time. The dude spoke 5 words an hour, on high speed...

First love: I used to think it was Darce. Or computers. I keep redefining what "love" means, as I keep falling further and further in love with Grant.

First enemy: Kate Something. She was in my Grade 7 class, and she made my life a living hell. I was the nerd, she was the rebel without a clue.
I saw her a few years ago while I was down in Melbourne visiting family. She was working in a shitty clothing shop. I was dressed like an executive with a mission, while out with my younger cousin Becky. Becks (cutest kid in the world) could have been mistaken for my daughter. I gave Kate a smug look, gave Becky a cuddle, and stalked out of her shop like a prized bitch!!!
It didn't prove anything, but made me feel better. She probably didn't recognise me without braces, anyway.

First job: Ice-cream scooper - Big Pineapple. Can still make a mean parfait.

First screen name: "weird_smurf". I had it for about 40 minutes on an IRC channel. Since then, I've been known as "Spack" "Jac" "JacquiSpack" "Doyle" and "PniX"

First MP3: "Torn" - Natalie Imbruglia. Matty and I listened to it about a million times. Whenever I hear it now, I still think of D22 (Matty's old room) and the excitement of hearing 'free music' for the first time.

First online-only friend: Would have been "Atlas Guardian", who I still keep in contact with after 8 years.

First computer: Amiga 500. Had a 'desktop' WAY before 'windows' was ever heard of...

First Home: 6 Hill Court. I don't remember much of it, but I do remember climbing the fence and trees and getting splinters in my chin. Tomboy, who?

First independent home: I don't actually own my own home, but the first time I lived alone would be where I'm living now: Harrow, London.

First house/flat: Lived in Concannon College for 3 years while I lived at Uni. I'm not sure if that counts, as I was living with 25 other students...

First credit card: Heritage Building Society. It's used mainly for online purchases, as I think the idea of credit is trouble waiting to happen.

First time on an aeroplane: I cant remember it. I was 3 years old, travelling around the UK with my mum, and my Nana Doyle. I had to travel with "Humphrey" the bear, my first (and ugliest) teddy bear.

First independent holiday: When I was 19. I went to Cairns with my cousin Philippa and her mate Kate. We all stayed in a dodgy hotel and spent a few days lying on the beach like sloths.

First visit to the hospital: Mum used to work in one, so I was there all the time. First serious medical visit was when I burnt myself and was rushed to the ER.

First drink: Christian's party. Mum was on a conference, so I was home alone. Hides and I managed to make a total wreck of ourselves. She spewed green noodles. I went swimming fully clothed. But I still maintain that I could swim better than I could walk...

First Hangover: Day after Christians party. I had to ring my mummy and tell her that I was hungover. She laughed her head off.

First Wedding: I cant really remember any before it, so I guess it was Lindy and Colins. I didn't understand why everybody started crying for no reason.

First Funeral: Granddad Brian. He died in '98. He used to eat my red smarties. He taught me to say "My granddad is a handsome devil" while I was learning to talk. When I told him that Stuart had given me $0.10 to be his girlfriend, he gave me $0.20 and asked me to reconsider! I was 4. He cried when he saw my high school formal photos. I cried while speaking at his funeral.
I miss him heaps.

Blogging for the lazy people

last cigarette: I don’t smoke but I had a drag on one of Ollie's, as I was proving a point. I cant remember what the point was.
last coffee: *points at mug*
last car ride: driving in the big blue bus. I don’t spend much time in cars these days.
last movie seen: I watched "Die Hard 3: With a Vengeance" last night before I passed out. Samuel L Jackson is awesome.
last book read: "Magician" By Raymond Feist. I'm now reading "Faerie Tale" By Feist also...
last beverage drank: I took a swig of Mountain Springs Carbonated Water this morning, straight out of the bottle. I didn't see the point in delaying for the amount of time necessary to get a cup from the cupboard. Plus, I'm the only one who drinks it.
last food consumed: McV's chocolate caramel biscuitty looking thing. Before that, Vegemite on toast. (shuddupgrant!)
last phone call: At work - Aaron, calling for Ian. Ian was 'unavailableatthemoment, wouldyoulikemetotakeamessage?'. At home - Grant called to inform me of the times/places for Matrix:Reloaded on the weekend. *squee*
last tv show watched: Good question. The tv is almost always on, but I'm rarely paying any attention to it.
last time showered: 8.10am this morning. It's a ritual. I'm not human without a shower each morning.
last shoes worn: Chunky office shoes. They've got rubber heels, so they don’t make godawful clunking noises on the wooden floors.
last sleep: 7 hours, last night. Shithead woke me up this morning, banging his suitcases throughout the hallway on his way to Greece.
last im: ICQ: I spoke to 'Damien' from Canada last night while I was messing about on the net. Conversation lasted for about 5 minutes... I've discovered that I have very little to speak to him about...
last time amused: Constantly amused. At the moment, I'm amused by Winamp Shoutcast. Cool radio stations, like "SpyLounge" and "AmbientDance"...
last show attended: "Crossroads" while I was in Kamloops, Canada.
last webpage visited: This one. Where I gakked this survey from.

Definition of "knackered"

Ok... Friday Night.
Quit uni at 3.25pm.
I'm asleep by 4pm.

Totally slept through happy hour. Slept through dinner, and desert, and mum coming home.

10pm, I stagger out of bed, scare my mother shitless.... she assumed that I'd be out on the town, seeing as I have finished the project conferance. But no. Town would have to wait. Unconsciousness claimed me faster than I would have believed possible.

Sleep - 1
Insomnia - 48,932

Its now 1am, I'm yawning quite widely so I think it could be possible for me to get some more sleep before dawn. What a score! Somebody should have told me that the cure for insomnia was to get no sleep and make a presentation on TCP/IP.

Go figure.

Presentation went well. Got High Distinction. Go me. Seems kinda meaningless, however, seeing as it counts for sweet fuck all towards anything. Oh well.

*yawn*

Yup. I think the odds for a sucessful sleep are ever increasing.

Anyhow, seeing as the past few days have been a blur of engineering stuff, I guess I'll have to wimp out and leave you with a whole shmacking list of personality quizes.

They dont require any brains, and there's really no chance of me failing them. Yay.

Also, I'm going to start compiling a list of quotable quotes. It seems that not a day goes by that isn't coloured by at least one thought inspired comment that leaves me thinking.... "What the?"

Today's Quotable Quote:

Engineering Girl - "It would be the most boring planet on earth".

Included are several crap online quiz results. Read at your own risk.

I just HAD to add the flashy animation bit to it. Wasn't geeky enough as it was.

Its 1am. I'm wide awake, and in no fit state to do any work. My thoughts are currently jumping like crazy. If I even attempted to program/thesis I'd end up with some whacked out document that would make Mr Supervisor reassess his opinion of my sanity.

Not like he already thinks I'm a space case, or anything.... But there's no need to convince him of the fact.

One minute I'm pondering my fic, which is finally finished, wondering if I shouldn't edit a few pages... I honestly think that the fight scene isn't realistic enough. Needs blood.

The next second, I'm doing some nutty personality quiz. I discovered that I wear PJ's to bed, and that the "what weirdo are you" quiz is broken. I dont really think I need some computer program to define what weirdo I am, anyway.

Then, inspired to write a "Doyle Review" on "Chain of Fools" which I hired out tonight on the OneDollar Tuesday deal.
It was very much like an american "lock stock".
Elijah Wood was a hitman.
Enough for a giggle, but not all that memorable.

Then, I wander over and check out how many new members Ringbearer has now. ITs been open less than 24 hours, and we now have 61 Registered Members. Huh. 5 minutes ago we only had 58.

Then, I get inspired to upload 30 new TTT images, then loose motivation as soon as the FTP program opens itself.

Eh.
