What a sad story
The Australian: Fifty years in asylum 'a mistake'
Machal Lalung has just spent over 50 years imprisoned in a mental asylum - as he was misdiagnosed. Machal didn't have a mental disorder, he had epilepsy.
The people who committed him have since retired, or died - his paperwork all missing. His family are now dead and he says he awaits the peace that death will bring.
