Odd bod
It's quite common for me to step out of the house wearing odd socks. I have a spiteful washing machine. Today, however, I have upstaged even my own oddsockery by managing to step out of the house wearing odd shoes.
I didn't notice, til I stepped into the office, and my footsteps sounded uneven.
Squeak, Thud, Squeak, Thud.

I know what you mean about boredom in a doctors waiting room and the complexities of politics ( i am working in the European Parliament ) I have successfully combined the two to arrive at the zenith , boredom everywhere.
I too visit my mother in Cabramatta ( remember Gough ? ) and had to tell my mother that unless she modified her behaviour I could not visit her again; long moments of silence and mean looks.
I should be released from the prison of boredom once more this year to visit OZ and possibly buy a house in or near Adelaide ( Sydney is now too big )
I will follow your musings with interest.
