System Abuser

I seem to be getting good at the 'Weekend Rundown' prose, so I'll continue to practise writing with a boring little recount of my life. I dont seem to have a life beyond the weekend, so I guess it's a good thing I have my Monday Blogging sessions to relive it all.

I guess the most exciting thing about my whole weekend was managing to make it all the way to Wales -and back- without having to pay for a single train fare. Yeah! I feel like some kind of edge-cutting life-living hooligan, the type which old people shake their heads at, unsmiling. Oooooh... I hope I can get a free ride next week, and be a total rebel.

With my free pass to Wales I managed to spend some more quality time with Beloved. We went fishing, once again, where I managed to get sunburnt despite the rapid approach of winter, make friends with a friendly swan and feed bananas to a smelly little pony. It was all very idyllic, really: Sitting beside a pretty little creek, watching the traffic zoom across the overpass. It was one of those spots that would have been ideal for 'Adventure Sex' if you were really into that kind of thing.

Also fulfilled my duty as a groupie for the band 'Beats Workin' on the Saturday night. Rather a good night out, watching friends and family up on the stage entertaining a huge crowd. I carried heavy things. I plugged a few things in. I unravelled tangled leads. I got to snuggle next to the Sound Engineer, too. It's good when you know people.

Entertaining thoughts of Adventure Sex and being a Groupie furthers the impression that I'm some kind of alternative rock chick. But, the reality of it all is that I'm not. I'm still the hard working little geek who pays her taxes and frowns when somebody pushes in front of her at the McDonalds line.

So, I'm not some hard-core system abuser, but I did just save myself £33.05 on a train fare. Not bad. I plan on spending this little winfall on a brand new hair dryer (Drier? Dryer? Both look wrong!) and perhaps a few more pretty smelling candles.

So.
What did you do on the weekend?
