EngineeringGirl Strikes Again! Sometimes, I

EngineeringGirl Strikes Again!
Sometimes, I believe that I am the smartest girl alive. Sometimes, I surprise myself with just how much knowledge has seeped through my thick skull, and into my memory. On the odd occasion, I simply have to jump around and do a Happy Dance.

One of those occasions happened tonight.

It's been two years since I've done any Z Transforms, (a nasty mathematical formula for finding the Ghp(z) - Control Systems Theory) so, tonight, when Mr Hufflepuff asked me to help him with his assignment, I was more than a little frightened. Numbers and Letters all mixed together like some sick parody of Heinz Alphabet Soup wafted before my eyes, and for a while, I was going around in circles. I never knew that circles had so many dead-ends...

But then, I did something that every Uni student should learn how to do. I changed the colour of my pen from green to red, thus sparking the creative half of my brain. I believe it was this added creativity that jogged my memory back two years, to the very long nights, and bitter assignment angst of all that time ago.

Pleased at my own stubborn desire to minimise the Z Transfer Function to its absolute minimum, I managed to get exactly what the bloody book said I would!! Whooopha!! I wish I could frame moments like that, to prove that I'm not just some vapid airhead who's only pretending to do Engineering. HAHA!!

See Mr Wallace!! I'm not just some annoying little girl! I'm not a High School drop out, nor am I an Arts Student. I may not be an Olympic Swimmer, but I ~AM~AN ENGINEER!
-ahem-

My feelings of pride and accomplishment were soon replaced by a strange sinking feeling. After spending two hours working on the problem, I suddenly realised that it wasn't actually my assignment! What a bastard!!

So, I made my way to the car, and grinned all the way home. I felt like I had done something constructive with my time, even if it had nothing to do with my work... In other words, I've discovered a Guilt-Free method of procrastination!!!

It wasn't all for nothing though - I guess I proved something to myself, perhaps a few others as well. Red pens work much better than Green ones.

All in all, a night well spent.
